 Get a Driving School LicenseThis classification applies if you provide instruction in driving a motor vehicle in the District, where a fee for the instruction is charged either directly or indirectly. Get a Motor Vehicle Dealer LicenseThis classification applies if you are engaging in the business of buying, selling, distributing, exchanging, or dealing in motor vehicles or trailers. The term shall include, but not be limited to “new car dealer” and “used car dealer.” This license does not authorize a used car dealer to store more than four (4) vehicles outdoors. Get a Motor Vehicle Salesperson LicenseAn individual (including without limitation any officer, director, partner or member of a dealer) who either expressly represents or impliedly represents or holds himself/herself out to be employed, engaged, appointed, authorized or permitted by any dealer to sell or buy or offer to sell or buy any motor vehicle or any interest in a motor vehicle for or on behalf of the dealer Get a Tow Truck Business LicenseThis industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in towing light or heavy motor vehicles, both localand long distance. These establishments may provide incidental services, such as storage and emergencyroad repair services. Get a Tow Truck LicenseA tow truck is a motor vehicle equipped with a lift, crane, hoist, winch, cradle, jack, automobile ambulance, tow dolly, or similar device designated or used to provide crane service for disabled motor vehicles, by whatsoever name called; Provided, that the term "TOW TRUCK" shall not include any vehicle equipped with a pushing bumper for the purpose of pushing stalled motor vehicles, but not equipped to provide crane service.  Get a Tow Truck Storage Lot LicenseThis industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in towing light or heavy motor vehicles, both local and long distance. These establishments may provide incidental services, such as storage and emergency road repair services. Get a Used Car Lot LicenseThis classification applies if you are engaging in the business of buying, selling, distributing, exchanging, or dealing in motor vehicles or trailers. The term shall include, but not be limited to “new car dealer” and “used car dealer.” This license authorizes a licensed Used Car Dealer to store more than four (4) vehicles outdoors in an industrial zone only (C-M or M). Get an Auto Rental LicenseThis classification applies if you keep automobiles or other motor vehicles without a driver for rent or lease.  Get an Auto Repair LicenseThis classification applies if you perform repair services on motor vehicles in the District of Columbia for compensation, unless you perform those services solely in the course of carrying out your duties as a salaried employee of an organization or public agency. If you are licensed by DC Code provisions or other federal laws or regulations relating to repair services, you are exempt from this definition unless you perform other repair services not covered by the statute or regulation. Get an Auto Repossessor LicenseThis classification applies if you repossess automobiles for the creditor as a result of delinquent debts. The classification includes any person, dealer, seller, sales finance company, or person acting under contract as or on behalf of a dealer, seller, sales finance company, or automobile repossession business which takes possession of a motor vehicle.
